The patient journey

The journey is simple on the patient side, and locked down on the pharmacy side: every step is a pharmaceutical control point, from verified registration through to handover.

02BasketProducts dispensed without a prescription; quantity cap per product; double consent: terms and conditions, then the leaflet.
03Question to the pharmacistThe messaging channel is a control point: the pharmacist can make validation conditional on an exchange.
04PaymentPCI DSS certified page; payment allocated to the pharmacy.
05Tracking and handoverTime-stamped statuses; sealed parcel; controlled handover.

What about prescriptions?

The journey in service covers the products the pharmacy can dispense without a prescription. Home delivery of prescribed medicines is a decision for the authorities, and there is no electronic prescription in production in Luxembourg: the service set up by the eSanté Agency in 2020 is a verification web service, with no prescription content. Elsewhere in Europe, this channel already exists; the European deadline for exchanging electronic prescriptions is set for March 2029.
